First Visit

Your first orthodontic appointment.Your first visit to our orthodontic office is an exciting time! It is a chance for us to get acquainted and for you to learn about the treatment choices and services that we provide.  When you walk in our door, you will notice a very modern, colorful office. But most importantly, you will enjoy our warm, kind staff and doctor.  You will meet with Dr. Spradley and he will perform a thorough oral examination.

You should plan to spend about 30 minutes with us at this first visit.  However, if orthodontics is needed, we may be able to proceed with taking our diagnostic records, if you wish.  The records include digital panoramic and cephalometric x-rays, digital photographs, and an iTero digital scan that gives us digital study models without "putty" impressions!  These diagnostic records are essential so that Dr. Spradley can develop the correct treatment plan for your smile.  If we take these records, your first visit may take about an hour.

About a week later, Dr. Spradley will meet with you to discuss your treatment plan in detail, using the diagnostic records to describe treatment goals.

If, at the first visit, Dr. Spradley determines that orthodontics would be better at a later date, due to the need for more permanent teeth to erupt, you or your child will be placed in our recall (or observation) program, where we check you every 6 to 7 months.  This enables us to pinpoint the best time to start your case!

Please be sure to continue seeing your dentist or pediatric dentist every six months for your regular check-ups!
